92 issues ago, when I started this newsletter, I had a plan for growing my “email list.”
Now, as I hit 2,012 subscribers, it seems like I don’t want to stick to that plan anymore.
Because, boy does 2k of you choosing to give me your time feel overwhelming 😬
Of course, most marketers will tell you: ‘Pfff, 2k subscribers is nothing’
But if you ask me, I’d give you a very honest, very real answer: it. is. overwhelming.
Because that means:
As we grow, I’ll end up losing track of individual faces reading this letter.
So, I’ve a strong gut feeling (and I’m a scorpion so my gut feeling is often accurate 😁), we’re close to entering the ‘faceless community — one that’s just a subscriber count’ phase.
And that’s NOT something I want to build 🙅♀️
So whadya thinking, Masooma? I hear you wonder.
A couple of things that I need your input on:
👉 Do we need a community — like a Discord, Slack, or Circle group?
👉 Should we do monthly meetups to get to know each other better?
👉 How about 15-minute-long 1-on-1 calls where I help you solve a content problem?
👉 Or we could do workshops where we work together on repurposing content?
I’d love it if you could reply to this email with your thoughts on one or more of these options.
I’ll also add a poll in case that’s an easier/faster way to share your interest:
And if you want to catch up for a 1-on-1, please use this link to schedule a meeting. (Make sure you share your content problem beforehand so I can better prepare to help you).
That’s all for today, fellas — no content Yoda takeaways this week, just me wanting to get to know you :)
P.S. For those of you who regularly reply to my emails, drop a heart, or comment on my Substack — you folks are the lot that keeps me going because really, it takes A LOT to consistently create content and your replies mean the world to me 🙏

Congrats Masooma for reaching so many people !
I believe that online monthly meetings would be awesome. People that show up at these meetings are engaged and eager to debate given topics. It is more time-consuming but you get so much more than from Slack groups in my opinion.
Anyway, I know how hard it is to come up every week with a new essay and you are doing great, constantly bringing new things. It's not an easy job so thank you so much!!
Congratulations on 2K subscribers, Masooma! Very well-deserved.
I think all of the options you mentioned sound good, but I'm leaning toward a Slack/Discord group and live workshops.
