Because behind the cinematic version of my Sri Lanka trip (yep, that’s where I was vacationing the last few days amidst:
Wallpaper-unreal waterfalls
Beach sunsets with palm tree views
A lodge smack in the middle of a lush rainforest)
… Was a sleep-deprived me in the backseat of a tuk-tuk on the way to Laxapana Falls, fully obsessed with the views — running purely on excitement and painkillers.
Honestly, the salty toes and crashing waves made it all worth it.
But you know I like to keep it real with you, so behind the gorgeous scenery was the human part:
The exhaustion.
The unfiltered commentary.
And the “bro I need a Brufen sponsorship at this point” moments.
Weirdly, that works in product-led content, too.
Even as you sell software to businesses.
Because people don’t connect with polished. They connect with honest.
Not polished “here’s why our product is perfect.”
Not another fake productivity monologue.
But:
Here’s the real showdown.
Here’s what worked.
Here’s what didn’t.
Here’s who this is NOT for.
Because you’re not selling to a company logo.
You’re selling to stressed, emotional, distracted humans.
To humans who buy emotionally first. Then justify it logically after.
That’s why the best product-led content is human.
It owns mistakes. Admits shortcomings.
It’s conversational. Specific.
Most of all, it’s real enough to feel lived in.
Because the moment people feel you’re selling is the moment they tune out.
Sri Lanka was beautiful.
But Brufen carried the trip.
